Lyft Senior Director, Investor Relations in San Francisco, California

The Senior Director of Investor Relations (IR), is a critical leadership role responsible for shaping and narrating the financial story of Lyft to investors, analysts, and the broader financial community. This is a highly visible role that will articulate our company’s financial performance, strategic direction and growth prospects. This leader will be both an influencer and thought leader in increasing the value of Lyft within the investment community and instilling confidence in both current and future shareholders.

This leader will serve as a key partner to the Finance and Executive leaders, and will report into the VP, Finance and Investor Relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Craft the Lyft narrative for investors, financial analysts and public markets

  • Develop recommendations on Investor Relations strategy and impact from different decisions/issues

  • Manage the investment community to ensure strong correlation between Lyft’s business performance and investor expectations

  • Develop competitive analysis, benchmark industry trends, and continuously measure business performance to provide a confident framework for the investment community

  • Lead the quarterly earnings process, drafting earnings releases, call scripts, accompanying presentations, as well as preparing talking points and relevant Q&A

  • Develop strong relationships with analysts and investors and be a trusted Company spokesperson

  • Build strong internal relationship with key stakeholders including Legal, Communications, Accounting and FP&A

  • Manage, support and mentor a high-performing Investor Relations team

Experience & Skills:

  • At least 12+ overall years of experience with extensive experience in investor relations, financial communications or related roles, preferably in a market-place like dynamic environment within innovative industries.

  • Deep understanding of how customer needs, customer insights, business opportunities and challenges within the consumer internet ecosystem impact IR strategy

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to synthesize market insights and stakeholder feedback into actionable recommendations. Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor.

  • Track record of excelling in a highly collaborative environment. Can build excellent relationships; not only externally, but also internally across a wide variety of functions.

  • Excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing abilities; ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior managers and external business partners

  • Excellent judgment, with a high degree of integrity, professionalism, deep personal ethics, and embodiment of our company values.

  • Compelling Storyteller: Passionate about engaging and educating investors by delivering a compelling message that is also aligned to a company’s mission

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Thursdays and a team-specific third day. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.

The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco Bay Area is $220,000- $300,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
